Asamoah Gyan hogged the headlines with his two goals abroad this weekend and Chris Dickson also scored in the lower leagues in Europe.

 In England:

 Chelsea are the only club left with a 100% record after Manchester United emerged comprehensive winners over Manchester City in a thrilling game at the Old Trafford.

Chelsea eased past stubborn Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at the Stamford Bridge. Michael Essien clicked in midfield for Chelsea in the London derby.

Aston Villa dispatched Portsmouth 2-0 and handed them their sixth consecutive Premier League defeat to throw them further deep to the bottom of the premier league table.

Kevin-Prince Boateng played 90 minutes for the under pressure Pompey.

New-boys Wolverhampton Wanderers sunk Roy Hodgson's Fulham 2-1.

John Pantsil was booked on the 87th minute but lasted the entire regulation time for the cottagers.

Richard Kingson could not make it to the Wigan bench as they lost hugely to Arsenal at the Emirates Park.

John Mensah warmed the bench for Steve Bruce's Sunderland as they succumbed to a 3-1 away defeat to Burnley at the Turf Moor.

In the Coca-Cola Championship, 'cash Dons' QPR brushed aside Welsh side Cardiff City 2-0.

Striker Patrick Agyemang made an injury return and came on from the substitute bench on the 82nd minute

In the League One, Chris Dickson scored a double for his loan club Bristol Rovers as they claimed all three points against Brentford in 1-3 win.

Jo Osei Kuffuor lasted 75 minutes on the pitch. Two-goal-hero Dickson was subbed on the 64th minute by Andrew Williams.

 Charlton Athletic surrounded their league one lead after failing to dropping two points against Norwich City at the Carrow Road.

 Winger Lloyd Sam played 73 minutes for the Addicks.

In the League Two, Albert Adomah returned from injury over the weekend to play 12 minutes in Barnet’s two-all stalemate with Bradford.

Elvis Hammond
came on in the 44th minute for Cheltenham in their 1-1 draw game with Rotherdam.

Germany:

Hoffenheim have rediscovered their devastating form they possessed last season after they fought back from two goals down to beat new entrants Borussia Monchengladbach 4-2.

Isaac Vorsah replaced Carlos Eduardo on the 90th minute mark.

Hans Adu-Sarpei
maintained his place in the Leverkusen defence helping them to draw goalless with fellow title contenders Werder Bremen.

Isaac Boakye has not recovered from injury and did not play a part in Nurnberg’s narrow loss to giants Bayern Munich. Bayern slipped away with a 2-1 win.

Karlsruhe brightened their chances of a Bundesliga return after brushing aside FSV Frankfurt 2-0 at the Wildparkstadion.

Godfred Aduobe's
experience went a long way to help the home side sweep away all three points and was subbed on the 88th minute.

In the Bundesliga II, Charles Takyi and Davidson Drobo-Ampem could not help St. Pauli escape defeat at the hands of Kaiserslautern.

FC Utrecht continued their fine start of the season piping ADo Den Haag 1-0. Center-back Francis Dickoh manned the Utrecht defence in that exciting game.

 Academy graduate Erixon Danso sat on the bench for the victors. The only goal of the game arrived 20 minutes from time when Dries Merterns pounced in.

Vitesse Arhem improved their status on the Eredivisie table after scrapping a 3-1 victory over bottom club RKC Waalwijk.

and Fred Benson played for the vanquished Waalwijk.

Eric Addo
helped Roda JC beat NAC Breda 2-0 at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion.

Mathew Amoah
failed to recapture his scoring boot for Breda but played the full 90 minutes.

Emmanuel Boakye was sent off for Sparta Rotterdam in their 1-1 drawn game with Heracles Almelo.

Boakye
was booked on the 67th minute and sent off 12 minutes later. Kwame Quasah led his team to secure a point from that week 7 game.

In France:


Asamoah Gyan sparked the riot as Stade Rennes destroyed Grenoble in a charged atmosphere at the Stade de Aples.

Gyan
opened the scoring just after 21 seconds of play and even that was not the begining of a nightmarish evening for the home side.

Sylvain Marveaux and Kader Mangane scored the second and the third before Gyan killed the game from the spot.

Gyan forced a handball out of Milivoje Vitakic on the 61st minute and sent Grenoble goalie Viviani the wrong way.

Strugglers St. Etienne failed in their quest to secure their first win of the season when they held to a one-all stalemate by AJ Auxerre.

Moussa Narry is struggling to discover the form he possessed last season.

The former Etoile du Sahel midfielder sat on the bench throughout the game.

warmed the bench for Vålerenga who nicked a 4-1 over Lyn Oslo.

In other matches, Rosenborg BK netted four times against Sandefjord. Anthony Annan steered the Rosenborg in that emphatic victory.

Akwasi Oduro Qwakeye was a 78th minute sub for Bodo/Glimt who shared all three points with Lillestrom. 

Italy:

Inter Milan came from a goal down to defeat Cagliari 2-1. Portuguese gaffer Jose Mourinho excluded Sulley Muntari from the Inter team that brought all three points to the Appiano Gentile.

Second placed Asconi punished Brescia 2-0. Ahmed Ampimah Barusso steered in midfield for the 4th placed Brescia.

Others:

In Cyprus Junior Agogo helped Apollon Limassol to snatch a point from their game with Aris L. The former Zamalek forward lasted 55 minutes on the pitch.

Injury ruled out William Tiero of action over the weekend in Academica Coimbra’s 1-1 draw at home with Belenenses.

Derek Boateng failed to capitalize on Daniel Parejo’s absence to make first team selection. Almeria picked up their first win of the season with a 1-0 success over Getafe.

Celtic overtook Rangers to go to the top of the Scottish Premier League after managing a 2-1 victory over Hearts.

Hungarian Boss Laszlo Csaba is yet to settle his differences with Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston as he again left him out of the Hearts’ squad.

Prince Buaben
played the full 90 minutes for Dundee United in their 1-0 home loss to Motherwell.

Black Satellites left-back David Nii Addy was in the Randers FC defence when FC Copenhagen dismissed them 3-0.
