The management of Sekondi Eleven Wise has vowed to contest the Ghana Football Association’s decision to impose a two-year transfer ban on the club in the Glo Premier league.
The Status Committee of the GFA which took the decision also ordered the club to pay the player in question, Edmund Sakyi $20,000 for maltreating him and inhumanly terminating his contract.
The player was part of the Wise team who survived the elite division last season after a decade's absence from top flight football. His exclusion from the team this season instigated him to report the matter to the FA on the grounds that he was unfairly treated.
However the Communications Director of the club Charles Osei Asibey has vowed to contest the decision to the highest level.
“Whatever has transpired is not good for Ghana football, we are not happy with the decision, I think due diligence has not been done looking at the facts we presented. We will contest this decision and make sure the truth of this matter surely comes out.” He said in an interview with Citi sports.
Meanwhile the head coach of Eleven Wise football club, C.K Akunnor has said that if the FA’s decision of the two-year transfer ban is upheld, it would not seriously affect the team. He said the team is not focusing on the FA’s decision but rather they are in the right frame of mind and are looking forward to winning their premier League match against Berekum Arsenals today.
