The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah III, in an interview with Peace FM recently alleged that President Mills is allowing himself to be ill-advised by “standard seven boys” to shun Ga chiefs and warned the President not to allow himself to be fooled into thinking that the people of Ga could be taken for granted by his administration.

 

Addressing the Press on Thursday, Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II dissociated the Ga Paramount Stool Dsase from the pronouncements and chided Nii Tackie Tawiah for “posturing for recognition that he does not deserve.”

 

“He is so persuaded by his inordinate and vain ambition such that he is totally unaware that he is betraying his utter frustration and fatal desperation.” He said

 

Nii Yaote Oto-Ga reiterated the position of the Ga paramount Dsase that King Tackie who he described as a "charlatan mantse", is illegitimate and should not therefore be recognised as the Ga Mantse.

 

“We wish to state categorically that the Ga paramount Dsase, the only legitimate and customarily mandated and recognised body of king makers of the paramount stool have not at any time installed any one as Ga Mantse since the demise of our illustrious Boni Nii Amugi II, for the Ga state.

 

"Therefore anyone parading himself as “Ga Mantse” is illegitimate and does not have the authority and mandate of the paramount stool dsase."

 

The Ga King makers are therefore calling on the general public and state institutions to desist from referring to King Tackie Tawiah as the Ga Mantse.

 

“Any reference or attribution to the position presently to any person is wrong and flies in the face of the sensibilities of Ga people and all reference to a “Ga Mantse” must cease forthwith.”

 

Meanwhile, the PRO of the Ga Mantse, Nii Boi Abbey, reacting to the claims of Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II said Nii Oto-Ga's group are rather the pretenders who are trying to cause confusion among the Ga people.

 

"they are rather the people who are bringing confusion into the Ga state...as we speak right now these people are rather the pretenders. They are no where near the stool,they are actually not authorised to speak on behalf of the Ga people so it is rather sad that we have them trying to create confusion...we are at Dodowa before the regional house of chiefs and they know so I don't see why they go about parading themselves and giving themselves positions."
