Miniter of Education - Mr. Alex Tettey-Enyo

Government has given the assurance that 525 senior high school and technical school in the country will be provided with adequate infrastructure to kick start the 4-year old education programme.

With the start of the 4-year programme in September, some school authorities have express fears of their incapability to accommodate the additional number.

However, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education says the expansion project is in 4 phases with 214 schools being in the first phase.

Paul Krampah is therefore asking authorities of schools which do not fall within the first category to exercise restrain since all schools should be covered before the year ends.

“The first and second phase has already taken off and soon the third and fourth phase will also commence. Government’s intention is that, at the end of the construction all 525 senior high and technical schools with a six-classroom block will be completed".

"Some of the buildings will be provided with more public resources. There are about 214 schools which are highly subscribed and these schools fall under the first phase. Work has begun and from the reports we have received the contractors are working under schedule”.
