Ghanaian Boxing Legend Azumah Nelson says the trainer of Joshua Clottey is to blame for the Former IBF Welterweight Champion’s defeat to Manny Pacquiao in their welterweight bout Sunday morning.

Too bad, Azumah blames the trainer for Clottey's loss, when u could hear the the trainer telling Clottey he was losing and therefore should vary his tactics.It was crystal clear that Clottey only wanted to survive the rounds without a knockout.every one knew the Packman was the favourite,hence it will be no news if Clottey had a knocked out however it wud av been history if he had taken his chances and been a little offensive,after all who ended the fight with a bruised eye ,it was the Packman,i thougt Clottey wasnot confident and he is entirely to blame for his loss.neva felt so dissappointed in my life.
If there is someone to blame on what happened during Pac vs Clottey fight it is no other than Joshua Clottey himself and no one else and that is the truth.
You can't win a fight without throwing something. Clottey was content on hiding in his turtle shell and survive.

It's so true that whoever (elite) fighters Manny faces; he makes them look bad and makes them change up their game plans. It's not that they suck or is scared of Manny; Manny is just too freak in FAST and elusive. Any fighter can watch Manny fight and say they can handle Manny's speed and power until they actually get into the ring with him. I really believe Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a one of a kind boxer, but Pacquiao is a different type of animal since his last lost to Erik Morales. He truly is a complete fighter now. I'd love to watch these two go at it and see if Floyd can really neutralize Manny's relentless and meticulous offensive attack. I really believe Floyd is going to have more than he can handle if he steps up to the pacman. But we'll just have to see! Let both side stop all the non-sense bullsh!t hype and just step up and fight for the hard core boxing fans…. Let's get ready to rummmmmmbbbbbbbbbbblllllllllllleeeee!!!

I was there watching the fight and the trainer told Clottey he was losing the fight from round five,he also told him to take a risk for the fight and Josua refused to do that again...Josua lost the fight b`cuz he couldn`t have won it with his style of fighting...He is a disgrace to Ghana and must know that he made people bought a ticket to go and sheer him up only to have watched him fight a day old child in the ring..I knew there was no way he was going to win that fight so I did not bother to panic at all so AZUMAH SHOULD KEEP QUIET AND LEAVE THE TRAINER ALONE..
Mr. Nelson, however great your trainer is if the boxer doesn't want to fight and is there only to collect a paycheck, he will be useless. The trainer does not need to motivate his ward to win, that is a fighter's goal when he comes up the ring.
Actually, Lenny de Jesus told Clottey they are lossing the bout, everytime during the duration of the fight. I can hear it from the background, but Clottey just doesn't want to take the risk.
Stop making excuses by blaming the trainer. The trainer's job was to prepare Clottey during his training camp. Once inside the ring it's the fighter's job to impelement what they practiced. The trainer already told Clottey that he needs a knockout to win the fight in the later rounds. He told him to get more aggressive but what did Clottey do? He went back hiding behind his gloves like a coward. And now you're going to blame the trainer for Clottey hiding in his turtle shell the whole night? Clottey lost fair & square by a better boxer. Manny was simply too fast for Clottey to handle & he knew if he started throwing more punches he was going to be countered. Clottey was more concerned about surviving the rounds than winning the fight. Why would he care anyway? He's going to get paid $1.2 million even if he loses the fight.
Yeah right.... Easy to second guess Azumah. Where were you when Clottey was looking for a trainer? You could have been the man since Clottey even went as low as hiring a cutman for a trainer. But no, you would rather criticize after the fact since it is easier to do so.
