The Former Minister of Public Sector Reform and the 2008 flag bearer of the CPP, Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum has warned that the country’s emerging oil sector faces imminent investor challenge if government fails to handle the current EO group controversy devoid of political sentiments.

Dr. Ndoum said the government must encourage effective local investor participation by being fair to all parties in the legal tussle involving the EO group, KOSMOS Energy and government.

The Attorney General has planned to probe Kosmos and its relationship with local partner EO group over the exploratory rights of KOSMOS in the Jubilee field.

Some 25 counts of malfeasance are reported to have been drafted against the EO group.

Government is being accused of victimizing owners of the EO group, Mr. George Owusu and Dr. Bawuah Edusei who also hold 3.5% stake in KOSMOS Energy for their role in the oil discovery in Ghana.

Dr. Ndoum said the government must rather build a system that would encourage Ghanaian investors to take advantage of the yet to be drilled oil and even own higher stakes in the sector

A thief will always support another crook
Ndoum does not love Ghana more than those who want this case investigated and dealth with by LAW. Ndoum should tell the courts to be fair and not government. Government will send the case to court and we expect the courts to be safe. Ghana does not want crook investors anyway, so those can keep off
