The National Insurance Commission is scheduled to investigate the claims of arson against the owners of companies where last Wednesday’s inferno at North Industrial Area started.
Owners of businesses close-by which were also burnt have alleged arson against the Indians who own the warehouses.
The National Insurance Commission, however, said if the companies are insured and are found culpable they will lose their claims.
The Deputy Commissioner at the National Insurance Commission Simon Nerro Darvor told
Citi News, “we can’t do anything unless it can be proved because they are just making allegations that they deliberately set the place ablaze but who can prove that?
What is the evidence?”
He added that if a commission is set up by the National Fire Service to investigate the cause of the fire, the owners could be held accountable through a competent court of jurisdiction for compensation.
