Mills’ family satisfied with final burial place
Mills’ family satisfied with final burial place The family head of President John Mills in Cape Coast, Ato Kakraba Brew, has expressed the family’s satisfaction with the funeral arrangements made so far.

The funeral committee tasked with the responsibility of planning the final burial rites of late President Mills in consultation with the various groups concerned has settled on burying the late President at a “specially designated place in between Castle Drive and Marine Drive in Accra.”

In an interview with Citi News, Mr. Brew stated that although the decision of the burial place has been finalised, “the family has not yet been consulted on the decision. I called Mr. Totobi Quakye this morning and drew his attention to the fact that we’ve not been consulted enough so I think they will have to rectify that.”

In a related development, the Information Ministry will on Friday afternoon make public the details of funeral arrangement for the late President.

A Deputy Information Minister, James Agyenim Boateng told Citi News, media reports speculating that the late Professor will be buried twice will be addressed officially.

He said: “What is important is that following consultations with the various stakeholders, a very special place has been designated for the internment of our late President and subsequently, this venue will be developed into a National Presidential Mausoleum.”
