A policy think-tank, IMANI Ghana, has described the choice of Mr.
Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as Vice President of the Republic as a new dawn in Ghana’s politics.
According to the Executive Director of IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, Mr.
Amissah-Arthur’s cool-headedness and economic background will come to bear on his new job.
Speaking to
Citi News, Mr.
Cudjoe said pitching the NPP’s Vice Presidential candidate, Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia, who was a deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) against the recent past Governor of the BoG, will bring decorum in Ghana’s current political environment.
He said: “These four gentlemen are very good people who understand that issues will define this election and not insults so there are significant issues at stake and I expect that they will rise to the occasion and focus on issues.”
“I think that largely, Mr.
Amissah-Arthur and President John Mahama should better serve in responding to issues in a manner that will be decorous and intellectually stimulating as well,” opined Mr.
Cudjoe.
