Weeks of deliberations, consultations and late nights will soon come to an end for thousands of Ghanaians children as the closing date for entries for the Write Away contest draws ever so close.
The six-year old contest which has since its inception transformed the writing skills of over 10,000 children, will this year reward the overall winner with an exclusive all expenses paid educational and fun trip to Cape Town, South Africa plus dozens of other mouthwatering prizes.
Friday August 3 2012 is the closing date for the submission of entries for the contest whose topic this year is, ‘Write story with your own characters that ends with the idiom, ‘Rome was not built in a day.’
All completed entries are expected to be mailed to ‘P.O Box 14123, Accra Central’ by August 3 or delivered by hand to Citi FM’s offices located behind Adabraka Police Station in Accra.
97.3 Citi FM, as part of its contribution to the development of education in Ghana, organizes the “Write-Away Contest” to encourage parents to get involved in shaping the writing skill of their children while rewarding them for their ingenuity, creativity and unique writing skills simultaneously.
The ‘Write Away’ Contest is an annual essay competition open to pupils and students within the age bracket of 10 to 14 years.
The Write Away Campaign 2012 is sponsored by Indomie Instant Noodles, Merchant Bank Family Saver, The Host, Volta River Authority (VRA), Air Namibia and State Insurance Life. It is also supported by Junior Graphic, Guide Young Blazers, The Host and The Globe newspaper.
