Asem releases musical tribute to former Prez. Mills
TweetAsem releases musical tribute to former Prez. MillsAs the world continues to mourn the passing of Ghana’s late president, it will take a lot of courage and creativity to script, produce and release a fitting musical tribute to him.
It will take a lot to compose the rhythm, the hook, the chorus and effort to find the right people to make it happen.
Asem, arguably one of Ghana’s most talented and versatile musicians, has however been able to do exactly that.
Collaborating with highlife legend Pat Thomas, the ‘bye-bye’ hit maker told citifmonline.com, “though it was not easy composing the track because of the emotional condition he was in, the need to produce a song to soothe the grief of the nation was a major motivation."
According to him, the song which is titled ‘Dear John - Damirifa Due’, seeks to “celebrate the life of the late president and extol his good deeds”
When asked about his choice of Pat Thomas for a collaboration, Asem noted the depth of experience of the musical legend coupled with the need to bridge a ‘generational gap of sorts” was it.
