Minority MPs to appeal Bawku MP’s jail sentence
Minority MPs to appeal Bawku MP’s jail sentence The Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has defended his colleague MP for Bawku Central, Adamu Dramani Sakande saying, he is not guilty of the three charges preferred against him.

Adamu Dramani Sakande was on Friday sentenced to a two year jail term by an Accra High Court which convicted him on three counts of Perjury, False Declaration and Deceit of a Public Officer.

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu told Citi News, the Minority members in Parliament believe their colleague MP is not guilty of the charges and would soon appeal.

He said, “the judge has convicted him but that is not the end of the case. We are sure in our minds that our colleague is not guilty so what ought to be done will be done.”

He added that “we are going to file an appeal and we also may have to file for a stay of execution and we believe the right thing will be done.”
