The authorities of Ghana’s premier University, the University of Ghana, Legon, have expressed their deepest condolence to the wife and family of the late President John Atta Mills.
Remembering the deeds of the late President who was also an alumnus of the school, the University in a press release signed by the Registrar, J.
M.
Budu stated that:
“Professor Atta Mills was the first alumnus of the University of Ghana, and for that matter any University in Ghana, to have been elected to the highest office of President.
During his time as a member of the Faculty of Law, he contributed immensely to the generation and dissemination of knowledge in his area of specialization, tax law.
His involvement in the life of the university went beyond academics to sports.
We remember his invaluable commitment to the development of sports in the University of Ghana.
Ghana has lost a great son and the University of Ghana has lost an outstanding alumnus.
At this time of such a huge loss, our prayerful thoughts go out to the people of Ghana and, especially, to his wife, Mrs.
Naadu Mills, and his entire family.”
