President John Mahama - Is praying God to turn Ghana's current adversity into opportunities
President John Dramani Mahama Wednesday convened an emergency cabinet meeting, his first official assignment a day after being sworn in as the President of Ghana, following the demise of President John Evans Atta Mills.
President Mahama led the opening prayer before the start of the meeting asking God to grant them the strength to continue with the Better Ghana Agenda that the late President Mills had set for the nation.
He averred a recourse to the saying that “there are opportunities in adversities”, and expressed the hope and prayed that God would turn the adversity that had hit the nation into an opportunity.
Although the media were not briefed on the agenda of the cabinet meeting, issues of how to continue the implementation of the Better Ghana Agenda, the selection of a Vice-President , the holding of a congress to endorse or elect a Presidential candidate for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and how to maintain unity in government and the party were likely to feature in the meeting.
