Work on LI on smoking to begin next month
Work on LI on smoking to begin next month The Committee Working on the Legislative Instrument (LI) on the passage of the Public Health Bill which among others will ban smoking in public places, have revealed that work on the bill will commence next month.

The LI brings together legislations which includes Tobacco Control, Vaccination, Quarantine, Clinical trials, Food and drugs, Communicable diseases, Vector control and Environmental sanitation.

The bill is awaiting the appendage of President Mills before the committee can start work on it.

The Principal Health Planner and a member of the Committee at the Ministry of Health, Sulemana Bening told Citi News, “the Clerk of Parliament and the Attorney General are working on the amendments that are being done so we hope it will be completed in two or three weeks so that it can be sent to the President.”
