Inflation for June rises to 9.4%
Inflation for June rises to 9.4% Inflation for the month of June inched up marginally edging up to 9.4 percent from the 9.3 percent recorded in May.

The monthly change for June was 1.4 percent which is o.6 percent points lower than that of May.

The monthly inflation rate has been increasing since March with the food and nonalcoholic beverage group recording a year on year inflation rate of 5.4 percent up from 5.0 percent in May this year.

The nonfood group recorded a year on year rate of 11.9 percent.

Transport, miscellaneous goods and services, alcoholic beverages, tobacco as well as clothing and footwear recorded inflation rates above the nonfood group.

Inflation rate (year on year) in the regions ranged from 5.1 percent to 12.2 percent.

The Central, Greater Accra and Ashanti regions recorded inflation rates above the national inflation rate of 9.4 percent.
