Reports from Hohoe in the Volta Region of Ghana indicate that the indigenes have formed groups to prevent the Zongo residents from working in the town.
Despite assurances from the National Security for members of the Hohoe Zongo community to return to their businesses, they are yet to resume normal activities due to these developments.
Speaking to Citi News
, the Liaison Officer between the Zongo Community and the Gbi Traditional Council, Alhassan Batuta, said the people need a green light from the Gbi Traditional Council to commence their businesses.
“While the Zongo inhabitants were away due to the clashes, some of the indigenes took over their stall, especially in the market places so how do they continue with their business now that they have returned?” he asked.
He therefore appealed for an immediate resolution of the matter to prevent any unwarranted confrontation between the two factions.
