The Police have confirmed calm has been restored in Sepe Timpom in the Ashanti Region following agitations in that community.
Some youth in the area on Monday evening set up road blocks over supposed victimization during a gun battle between the police and members of gangs in the area over the weekend.
The clashes led to the death of one member of the gang and the arrest of three others.
The Asawase District Police Commander, DSP Nana Kumi, told
Citi News, his unit had help from the assembly man of the area to restore calm.
“Due to the agitations by the youth against the Police, we decided to calm the youth through their assembly man who is also the presiding member of the area.
We did this to avoid any possible clash and violence,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the three men who were arrested by the police on suspicion that they were part of the armed robbery gang have been granted bail.
The three, Kwadwo Isaac, Nicholas Amoah and Peter Kwadwo Wrai are to report to the police daily as they continue their investigations.
