Embattled MP for Assin North Kennedy Agyapong was re-arrested shortly after he was freed from the earlier charges of Treason Felony, Terrorism and Genocide.

Two fresh charges have been preferred against him which are ‘Provocation of Riot’ and ‘Offensive Conduct’.

He has been granted bail after writing his statement at the Police Headquarters.

The date for him to appear in court to defend the fresh charges is yet to be set but Mr. Agyapong has been to the Police Headquarters to a write a statement on the fresh charges.

His lawyer, Nii Ayikoi Otoo said the new charges which are lesser are much better “than the gargantuan charges of terrorism and genocide etc.”

He has however indicated that they are ready to meet government in court over the “misdemeanor” charges.
