A few months after Citifmonline.com broke the news about the former first family’s decision to form a new political party, almost all the elements needed to bring this to final fruition have emerged.

The latest information from the corridors of the Rawlingses have it that some individuals have already been designated to hold certain key positions under the new political party called the National Democratic Party (NDP).

Citifmonline.com can also confirm that Dr. Nii Armah Josia Aryeh a former General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress has been named as the Interim National Chairman of the National Democratic Party.

One Dr. Rockson Mamboi is the General Secretary of the party and these are positions that have been occupied for now.

Information is also rife that the NDP’s logo is made up of a Dove, holding the Gye Nyame symbol with its beak and the party has the same colours as that of the ruling NDC – Black, Green, Red and White.

In an interview with Citifmonline.com however, a leading member of the party and close associate to the Rawlingses, Dr. Kwasi Offei-Agyeman indicated that he and other Social Democrats have met with Electoral Commission officials to get the green light to participate fully in this year’s elections.

He added that all is set from their side for the 2012 elections and that they are just waiting the final go ahead from the Electoral Commission for their next line of action.
