Faulty Korle-Bu laundry machines to be replaced Authorities at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital have assured that rehabilitation works on the hospital’s laundry centre would be completed at the end of the year.

The Ghanaian Times newspaper reported on Thursday that the laundry of Ghana’s premier hospital was in a state of disrepair thus forcing the laundry staff to adopt unorthodox means of operation.

The Public Relations Officer at the Hospital, Mustapha Salifu, admitted that most of the equipment in the laundry are faulty, but was quick to add that money has been allocated to repair them.

According to him, a request was made to government through the Ministry of Health regarding the state of the laundry and funds have since been made available to the hospital authorities for the commencement of repair works.

“The contractor came here two weeks ago to inspect the laundry so I believe some of the machines will be de-commissioned to enable him install the first phase of the new ones soon,” he added.
