Members of the opposition in Parliament
A group calling itself, Inside Ghana is advocating for an assessment of the performance of the opposition in government after the first 100 days in office.
In the group's opinion: “To get the full performance of any government you need to take into perspective the performance of the various arms of government.”
The Convener of the group, George Spencer Quaye speaking in an interview with Citi News
noted that in competitive party politics, it was always prudent to look at the contribution of both the incumbent and opposition when analyzing their contribution to the development of the country.
He held the opinion that this was because the nation expected "the opposition to be the alternative source should we have any challenges with the incumbent.”
Mr Quaye however described the performance of the opposition in the last 100 days, especially the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as "irresponsible."
“If you look at their stance, conduct, posture and utterances, it is nothing to write home about. We have an opposition the has collaborated with some civil society group to anticipate a military coup,” he alleged.
