The General Secretary of the Ghana Hockey Association, Vivian Dugblor has revealed that the preparations of the national women’s Under-21 side will move into full gear this week when the entire team converges.
Speaking to Citi Sports
on Monday, Dugblor indicated that the team was in camp ahead of the World Under-21 Hockey Championships to be held in June.
“ After qualifying from the African tournament in South Africa, the team has been training although the entire group is yet to assemble.”
“That will be finalized by this week because the players are now part of the Police Service and are undergoing training.”
“We had to go through the right procedure to get them released to us so that they can join their colleagues in camp.”
The World Under-21 Women’s World Cup will be held in Mönchengladbach
Germany from the 27th July to the 4th of August 2013 and Ghana will be competing with the likes of Australia, Belgium and Germany.
