NDC masterminded Dr. Bawumia’s accident – Sir John
NDC masterminded Dr. Bawumia’s accident – Sir John The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is accusing the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of complicity in the accident which occurred on the Bole road involving Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Sunday.

The 2012 elections Vice Presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Bawumia was involved in an accident on the Bole Road in the Northern Region on Sunday together with his bodyguard and his Press Aide.

He was subsequently flown to Accra for treatment and has since been discharged from the hospital.

However, his party is blaming the NDC for allegedly orchestrating the accident.

In an interview with Citi News prior to a press briefing on the allegation, the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie stated that the NDC government plans to get rid of Dr. Bawumia because he is a key witness in the party’s election petition pending at the Supreme Court.

“They know that Dr. Bawumia is a key witness in the case that is before the Supreme Court and so the only thing that they can do is to get rid of him by killing him so that they think by that, the evidence will be lost.”

He also alleged that the perfect condition the vehicle was in could not have caused the accident adding that the timing of the accident; which was 15 minutes into the journey was suspicious.

“If you look at it, a brand new vehicle, V8 vehicle that had just been procured and not 15 minutes into the journey, one cannot even say that the tyres were heated for it to have exploded.

Earlier, in the day, Jake [Obetsebi Lamptey] one of his tyres has also burst and then some 20 minutes or so after, the tyres of Bawumia had also exploded and the car had somersaulted in the manner that it did.”

Mr. Owusu Afriyie insisted that he knows that activities of the NDC, “I know the dangers of the pokes of the umbrella; how it pierces tyres and causes that kind of accident.”
