Gov’t intervenes to prevent strike by GNAT and NAGRAT Sources close to the National Association of Graduate Teachers, (NAGRAT) indicate that Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani has met leaders of Ghana National Teachers Association (GNAT) and NAGRAT to avert an impending strike by members of the group.

Leaders of NAGRAT had threatened to go on strike if government does not resolve all outstanding disputes regarding salaries and other conditions of services by January 25.

However reports suggest that after a meeting with the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani and other stakeholders, the two groups have agreed to establish a high level working group to address the problems of the two Associations.

Citi FM sighted a letter in the possession of the teacher unions from the office of the president asking the former to submit nominations for the working group.
