Citi FM's Radio Scrabble gets Accra spelling Last week was more than exciting as many individuals tried their hands at the 2013 edition of Citi FM’s Radio Scrabble Promotion.

Five lucky winners won for themselves three tickets each to see movies at the Silverbird Cinema. Petrina Famiyah emerged the first winner of the 2013 edition of Citi FM’s Radio Scrabble Promotion last week. Her word was “CONCURRENT”.

The next day, Gameli, calling in from Roman Ridge won for the day.

Felix Nyarko from Bodwease called in on day three with a determination that was so admirable. His word was “CONSTERNATION” and he managed eleven words out of it earning him 46 points to be adjudged the winner of the day.

Peter of Dome, spelling eight words out of “SERENDIPITY” was the lucky winner of day four of Citi FM’s Radio Scrabble promotion.

With “SPASMODICAL” as her word, Esther Owusu Appiah calling in from Tema, smashed it with 13 words and 47 points to win for day five.

Radio Scrabble on 97.3 Citi FM, seeks to generate the spirit of competition amongst listeners by testing their mental prowess in the formation of words.

Participants are required to engage in a word challenge, which will necessitate on the spot thinking. Participants also stand the chance of winning three free tickets to watch movies at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra.

So if you intend to win for yourself some movie tickets here are a few rules you must take note before you join Jessica on Brunch in the Citi every weekday till the end of the month.

Participants have 60 seconds to form as many words as possible out of the word for the day and must clearly pronounce the word before they spell it.
Two Letter words score 2 points; three letter words score 3 points and so forth.

Prefixes, suffixes, Proper nouns or abbreviations will not be allowed and the caller with the highest number of cumulative points wins.

CITI FM reserves the right to disqualify anyone and 3 Callers will be allowed per day. If a participant’s call drops during the competition, he/she is disqualified but may however try again the next day.

The Oxford English Dictionary is the official dictionary for the promo and winners will not be allowed to participate again.
