Highway Robberies in Northern Ghana
The major highways linking the three Northern Regions to the other and to Southern Ghana record a high number of highway robberies.
Robbers are known to block roads in the middle of the night and hold drivers hostage when they stop.
In some cases criminals reportedly boarded buses and forced drivers to stop in the middle of nowhere to rob passengers.
