The Kumasi Airport will open to traffic today after it was closed down for repair works yesterday.

Travelers hoping to shuttle between Kumasi and Accra for business can now do so as the domestic airline operators begin work today.

The operators are rather happy about the recent works on the runway as they hope to cash in on the festive season.

William Koranteng Asare, Head of Operations at Antrak Air indicated to Citi News that his outfit was elated with the re-opening because of the assurance that the airport was now in prime shape to handle the traffic that the festive season will bring.

Mr. Koranteng Asare was however quick to add that the domestic airline industry lost thousands of dollars following the closure of the Kumasi airport yesterday.
