The Management of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has described as “disturbing and disingenuous” as NHIS advert which is currently being aired on some Television stations warning that it has the possibility to “weaken public confidence and cause disaffection for the NHIS.”

A statement issued by the Authority stated that the advert portrayed woman who was turned away from a clinic in her bid to seek medical attention for her child with an NHIS card; a case the Authority believe was meant to represent the NHIS as ineffective.
