President John Dramani Mahama has asked members and executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to welcome back members who defected or left the party to join other parties and groups.
The party has been hit with a number of defections, with some members forming the breakaway National Democratic Party (NDP).
Recent reports however indicate that some of those who left had returned to the party.
Speaking at his hometown, Damongo in the Northern Region, President Mahama advised that the returnees should be accepted with open arms as they have realized their mistakes.
He opined saying, “several of our brothers and sisters who left the party because of FONKAR and NDP have said they want to come back to the party.
I appeal to all of you to receive them back into the fold again.”
“In many cases, when the defected members try to come back, our executives do not want to accept them.
Multi party democracy is about numbers and unity so please let's accept them back, increase our numbers and win this victory,” he added.
