GFP executives defect to CPP
GFP executives defect to CPP The Presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Dr. Abu Sakara Foster has welcomed members of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) into his fold.

The Executives and some members of the GFP on Thursday announced they have defected to join the CPP’s campaign for victory in the December Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

This follows the defection of the flagbearer of the party, Madam Akua Donkor to the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) after she was disqualified by the Electoral Commission from contesting the December general elections.

Speaking to Citi News, Dr. Sakara said he respects the decision by members of the GFP to put their weights behind him.

He said: “We welcome it greatly and we are indeed very delighted that they chose the CPP. They could have chosen to go with a bigger party with more resources. But it is important and instructive that they looked at what we [CPP] represented in Ghana. The cause that we are fighting for and they found common course with us that is why they have come to us.”
