Junior nurses to strike over unpaid salaries Junior Nurses and Midwives across the country are threatening to withdraw their services within two weeks if the Ministry of Health fails to back-date their appointments.

According to them, this will guarantee them salaries to cover services rendered for the past two years.

The National Coordinator of the group, Courage Kwame Kumah described the situation as unbearable saying, “people having been working since December 2010 and have not been paid and people who are ending their internship have also not received their meager allowance”.

“We have submitted a petition to the Minister and we are waiting. In two weeks time if there is no favorable response, we are going to lay down our tools”, he mentioned.
