EC certifies Ghana Freedom Party
EC certifies Ghana Freedom Party The Electoral Commission has confirmed the operation right of newly formed Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) as an eligible political party in the country.

The party which was formed by a 57 year old farmer, Akua Donkoh aims to ensure a tax free system at Ghana’s ports.

Speaking to Citi News, the Principal Public Relations Officer at the Electoral Commission, Silvia Annor said Akua Donkoh has satisfied all requirements needed to operate officially.

“The party was given its final certificate of registration because checks had been made and facts were also ascertained on the founder and the party and so that is the reason why we have issued the party with its final certificate”, she explained.

Sylvia Annor further explained that although the founder of the GFP, Akua Donkoh is incapable of speaking English, the language barrier is a different matter all together which will be addressed in due course.

She said, “the language used in filling the forms for certification by the EC is in English and whatever was filled was filled in English and by virtue of the fact that she does not speak English, that is a different thing all together.”
