A financial analyst Kudzo Akpabey has told Citi Business News the commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority George Blankson must take ultimate responsibility for the failures of the revenue collection agency.
Kudzo Akpabey is demanding a total overhaul in the leadership of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
“I’m only saying that the shake-up is still not enough there is the need for further shake up at the Top” he said.
This comes after President Mahama announced changes in the leadership of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
He lamented the continuous revenue loss is due to ineffectiveness of top officials.
“If you are head of an institution , you are the CEO ,and all the lapses are going on , there are fraudulent practices with importers at the ports… we are only collecting about 20 to 25% of import duty at the ports, which is very low… so the buck stops where? …if you are the CEO and something happens it’s the Boss”.
