Some married couples and even some persons in committed relationships prefer to dress up in matching outfits or clothes with coordinated colours.

Varied reasons are attributed to this fashion choice but the basic reason is that, they want to be noticed as a couple. It’s not appealing to everyone but it’s a fashion choice and a personal expression.

When you are a couple, you are likely to find specific traits of your significant other or partner that you like. Therefore, if you can't have it, you might simply buy something similar because it reminds you of that person, an event shared or a treasured moment.

Nonetheless, there are always rules regarding fashion choices and in this case, it is absolutely necessary that certain pointers are adhered to so as not to look out of place in the chosen matching outfit.

Colour coordination is extremely important. Do not mismatch colours. You may have a fair complexion while your partner may be dark or vice versa. In this case, you complexions demand different colour shades. The best option is to find colours which complement both skin complexions.

Don’t select fabrics with many patterns. Because the outfit is being worn by two individuals at the same time and clearly, you and your partner will be together most of the time during the event or occasion therefore, patterned attires will make the two of you look ‘too busy’ and not adorable as you set out to be.

You can also make do with monochromatic colours which are different shades of a single color or hue. For example, you can match a light blue with a dark blue. It is a simple and safe way to colour match. Either of you can wear the dark blue outfit, while the other chooses the light blue. This will make the both of you look attractive and appealing.

Finally, both of you do not have to be in the same outfit. One can go all out while the other wears a piece of it. For instance, with the advent of African prints, many designers are creating all sorts of fashion accessories like neck ties, bow ties, brooches, bangles, rings, shoes, clutches, handbags, petticoats and anything you can think of. Wearing a piece of such accessories to match the outfit of your significant other is creative and very attractive.

Love makes people do the craziest things. Most of all you simply want others to know that you are a couple and that you are in love. Incorporate these tips in your choices and your mission will be accomplished.
