One good thing about the new trend of fabric-made shoes is that they match well with anything, that is if you get your colours right.
Majority of Ghanaian designers are now using the African prints in their clothing, bags, hats belts and shoes which sends out a very interesting message to each and every Ghanaian, and as a matter of fact, all Africans.
You walk on the streets of Accra, and all you see is the colorful nature of clothing from head to toe.
It’s quite remarkable how it was largely triggered from the usual Friday wear, as it is called here in Ghana, where wearing the African print is dominant on Friday’s.
But now it has moved to a different level where African prints are now being used for everything.
Shoes have become one of the latest trends on the line and, I must say, they look real good when you get your combinations right.
I had the chance to sport a pair on the runway of Expressions of Accra, a fashion show organized by
Citi FM, which exhibited African Prints from the different generations and, my oh my, the carefully done African loafers was just eye catching!
One other thing I noticed, was the ability to combine any colour of clothing with shoes made out of neatly put together African fabric.
You can wear these shoes anywhere, for any occasion and with the right clothing to match it, and trust me, you would be look fashionable!
