Ghana’s Daniel Opare will travel to Belgium to face Club Brugge in the Round of 16 of the tournament after the draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.
Opare played the full match for Besiktas as they beat Liverpool 5-4 on penalties on Thursday and their reward for progression is the match against Brugge in a repeat of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup group stage match.
Fellow Ghanaian, Christian Atsu and his Everton team will come up against Dynamo Kiev.
Atsu missed Thursday’s 3-1 win over Young Boys of Switzerland who also had Samuel Afum in their team.
The other matches from the draw will see defending champions Sevilla face Villareal in an all-Spanish meeting. Another same country duel will be between Fiorentina and AS Roma.
Fiorentina beat Tottenham while AS Roma went past Feyenoord in the Round of 32.
Ukranian team Dnipro were paired with Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam and Wolfsburg travel to face Inter Milan.
The draw also threw up two Italian- Eastern European ties in Zenit St. Petersburg vs Torino and Napoli vs Dinamo Moscow.
The matches will be played on the 12th and 19th of March.
