The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will on February 1, 2015 relocate to the Northern Region where the sector Minister and his subordinates will work for some number of weeks.
[contextly_sidebar id=”jvFhKEirPGHlREkKcNh7NiWR5ST65b3y”]The sector Minister, Julius Debrah and his team will tour the entire Northern Region to get acquainted with the development needs of the people.
The team will also inspect government’s completed and ongoing projects in the region.
This will be in fulfillment of President John Dramani Mahama’s pledge in his State of the Nation’s Address to take governance to the doorsteps of the locals.
Deputy Minister of Local and Government, Nii Lante Vanderpuye made the pronouncement at a media interaction in Tamale.
The Odododiodio constituency Member of Parliament said the Local Government and Rural Development Minister’s team will on February 7 join the chiefs and people of the various districts in the Northern Region to make the ongoing National Sanitation Day exercise a success.
He said government’s determination to champion environmental management and sanitation across the country should be a collective responsibility.
Nii Lante Vanderpuye thereby pleaded with the media in the Northern Region to lure the indigenes to actively participate in the upcoming National Sanitation Day exercise.
He implied, “We are determined to make sure the exercise in the Northern Region is successful.”
Ahead of the media interaction, Nii Lante Vanderpuye met with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives and their Coordinating Directors.
Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna repeated calls on the media to support the National Sanitation Exercise.
He said three teams will be formed to embark on the exercise in the various districts.
