A swift response from the personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) brought the fire under control thereby preventing it from spreading to other parts of the hospital.
Citi News’ Northern Regional corespondent, Abdul Karim Naatogmah reported that the fire fighters who are currently at the scene say they are yet to establish the cause of the fire.
The Deputy Regional Fire Commander, Douglas D. Koyiri told Citi News, his outfit had a distress call that there was a fire outbreak “so our men were quickly dispatched and they were here in five minutes.”
“Within 10 minutes, we were able to control the fire…I will say the fire did not destroy any of the items; the fire just scourged the items. It’s a minimal damage,” he added.
Meanwhile, the hospital workers are trying to tidy the place up.
