The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) regional elections is underway in Koforidua in the Eastern region.
The elections will offer party executives an opportunity to elect regional executives to steer the affairs of the party.
[contextly_sidebar id=”MVlxHIH0UNwQxViRm7oDxAMka32M6XnH”]Speaking to Citi News, the Regional Communications Officer of the party, Mr. Ebo Sam said “today marks a very significant day in the lives of the PPP party in the Eastern region.”
“Today is the day, we are conducting the final elections in the region…We have done polling stations, we have done constituencies, we are conducting the regional,”he added.
Positions to be contested for at the elections include the National Organizer, the Regional Organizer, Regional Chairman, Vice Chairpersons and the Regional Secretary .
Mr Sam said “all card-bearing members” are expected to vote at the election.
The party will also hold its National Convention to elect National Officers of the party on Saturday 13th December, 2014 at Tema in the Greater Accra Region.
The Central Regional branch of the party recently conducted its regional elections.
Andrew Sefa, a native of Cape Coast was elected as the Central Regional Chairman of the party at a delegates’ conference in Winneba early this month.
